52 inch light bars are the most popular. We recommend those over a smaller light bar especially on a Jeep.
If you want a full length light bar then we suggest our double 52 inch light bar. It has widest area of illumination and is usually placed on top of the windshield.
If you want a smaller light bar for better direct light(rather then spear light) we suggest a 20 inch or 22 inch light bar.
You don't need to be an expert on LED lights to recognize that a light bar with two rows will emit more light. Double row light bars, on the other hand, are much more expensive due to this factor. Double row lights are frequently the most popular option, but if you want your car to have a low profile, a single row light is the best choice. A single row light may also appear nicer than a double row light, depending on the size of your car.
Depending on the product you're interested in, we suggest a combination of colored LEDs and colored lenses to produce distinct lighting effects. Under most circumstances white lights are going to provide the brightest lighting experience. But, When there are particles in the air (snow, dust, fog, rain), white can reflect off of these particles making it difficult to see. In comparison, amber illuminate without reflection better.
]]>Driving your vehicle off the road, whether it's a UTV, ATV, SxS, jeep, or truck, necessitates taking safety procedures for you and your passengers. No matter the terrain or weather conditions, adding a small LED light bar to your car is a wonderful method to assure your safety and visibility.

If you're looking for LED bulbs to utilize as driving lights or flood lights, there are a few options to consider. It is vital to study all of the many characteristics offered in order to ensure you choose the ideal LED light bar for your needs. While some factors may seem insignificant to you, others will enable you to not only select the best bar for your needs, but also make the most of it.
It goes without saying that the larger the LED light bar is, the more bulbs it contains, and thus the more light it produces. Sizes vary from a small 22inch to 52 inches.
Our 52 inch light bar usually spans from one side of your vehicle to the other. While our 32 and 22 inch models are more suitable for spot lights or smaller vehicles.

Below, we are sharing some tips for installing your new light bar. Rest assured, this is usually a simple process, made even easier because LED light bars are relatively lightweight. You should be able to install your light bar either by yourself or with the assistance of a friend.
First, check your light bar package and ensure that you have all the pieces. You don’t want to begin only to learn you are missing that last critical component because of a packaging error.
Once you have laid out all the parts, make sure you have, on hand, the appropriate tools for the job. While simple to install and wire, you do need to have some basic items. For installation, you need wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers, as well as a measuring tape. You may also want to have some clamps on hand to hold the bar still when determining where to drill holes.
When you are ready to wire you will use wire strippers and cutters as well as crimpers. Make sure they match your connectors. You may also need tape and caulking as well as wire ties.
Before you actually begin the installation, test your lightbar and ensure it works. You can do this by connecting it to your car’s battery. If it doesn’t work, you can do an exchange before you waste time installing something broken.
Some important tips for the actual wiring start with a relay. Generally, they can handle a higher load than switches so they won’t overheat. Their voltage drop is less and, when used with a single control switch, you can use lights simultaneously.
For some inexpensive protection for your vehicle’s electrical system, we also suggest the use of a fuse with the right amp rating. Benjamin Franklin once said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” And nobody knew electricity like he did.
controller unit should be located in a suitable spot with an unobstructed view of the rf remote the switch wire can be routed through the firewall to switch location inside cab.
Wire the switch cable inside the cab of your vehicle. Many people cut a small hole somewhere in reach of the driver using a drill or a Dremel and insert the button inside.
Also, ensure the inline fuse is installed and not broken.
Special Notes:
If you have an aftermarket switching system, cut off the two toggle switch wires and splice them together. Then you can connect the positive battery wire from the harness to your switching system
If the remote doesn't work. Pull in-line ruse to reset the control module. Once you've downloaded and opened the app. Select led dmx and it should connect automatically.

Do you drive a Jeep? Is off-roading a passion of yours? If you answered yes to either of the two questions above, you are likely familiar with vehicle light bars. These popular accessories are mounted to your vehicle, either on the grill or below or above your windshield. The significant light provided by the LED models of this equipment is exceptionally valuable in seeing in front of or behind your vehicle while operating it off-road. These can be used emergency light bars. Some options are blue emergency lights. LED rigid light bars improve safety when used in off-road situations.
While these custom light bars are all the rage, there are some states in which they have been declared illegal.
It is important to know if the state in which you live has laws governing the use of light bars and what they are.
When researching the laws, understand that the terminology differs from state to state. Laws can refer to different types of lighting accessories, how they are affixed to your vehicle, and even color and brightness.
The term “LED light bars” is often used and easily recognizable by Jeep owners across the country. That said, state laws may group these accessories under the general category of auxiliary lights. Some states limit the number of light bars your vehicle can have. Since the classification also includes fog lights and driving lights, an LED rigid light bar may push you over the limit.
Color and brightness are two additional aspects that can be regulated. Certain colors in specific locations are prohibited because they mimic emergency vehicles. Additionally, brightness is also regulated by law. It is important to research both of these to determine what is legal prior to investing in a light bar. Some say the best light bars can be purchased with Aerox Industries.
Finally, the location of your light bar, where on the vehicle it is placed, is also governed by law. Make sure to pay attention to specific details as rules can differ based on vehicle height and type.
Light bar legality and the rules governing all aspects of them can differ from state to state. For those whose travel is limited, this should not be an issue. Simply make sure your lighting accessories comply with the laws of the state in which you live. However, if you tend to travel, this may be concerning. What is appropriate in one state could be illegal in another. It’s important that you understand the rules of the road before you head out, penalties for breaking the law can be costly.

Whether you’re an avid off-road Jeep enthusiast or simply enjoy an occasional adventure off the beaten path, you’re familiar with the dangers that can occur when you’re traveling off-road, especially alone. Depending on where you are off-roading in your Jeep, you may find yourself in several different types of dangerous situations.
Take for instance Black Bear Pass in Telluride, Colorado. Black Bear Pass has claimed many Jeeps and 4x4’s and in some unfortunate cases the drivers of the vehicles themselves on this dangerous off-road trail.
The stunning 8.5 mile trail through the Uncompahgre National Forest has a sign before you enter that states “Your vehicle should have low-range 4WD, good tires, good brakes, excellent articulation, and a fully functional emergency brake”. One thing you should also have to keep you safe that the sign doesn’t mention is a light bar.
At AeroLidz, our 52” light bar shines at an incredible 30,000 lumens. An LED Light bar with 30,000 lumens is more than enough to safely light the off-road trail of Black Bear Pass or any off-road trail in the country.
In addition to keeping you safe on the trail by illuminating the road, our RGB LED Light Bars also have the ability to pulsate an SOS distress signal. Therefore, emergency light bars. Hopefully you’d never need to use your light bar to send an SOS signal but if you ever found yourself in a situation that called for it, it’s great to have. Should you ever go off the side of an embankment, get stuck on a trail, or simply need to get a passerby or hiker's attention, an SOS signal shining at 30,000 lumens is a surefire way to alert someone that you’re in trouble.
Using an SOS signal might sound a bit dramatic but there are other practical uses for your light bar that keep you safe as well. If you’re traveling down a remote road alone, you can use your light bar to alert you of hazardous items in the road or animals that may be crossing the road.
While nothing can replace common sense, experience, or general cautiousness while off-roading, having a high quality light bar that you can rely on is a comforting feeling before you head out on your next adventure. ]]>Whether you’ve been off-roading for years or are brand new to “off-roading life”, you’re familiar with the benefits of having light bars on your Jeep or off-road vehicle. What you may not know however, is the history and evolution of the light bar itself.
Chances are you’re familiar with the LED light bars we see today and you know their benefits for off-road use. LEDs or (light emitting diodes) produce light up to 90% more efficiently than incandescent light bulbs. However, light bars haven’t always been the super bright LEDs that are so common today. From carbide lamps, to tungsten vacuum lights, halogens, xenon lights and HPS/LPS, the automotive light bar industry has advanced significantly since it’s early days.
AeroLidz is on the cutting edge of light bar technology, evolving with the rapidly improving light bar technology world. We’ll cover the history and evolution of the off-road automotive light bar industry and how AeroLidz continues to not only stay up to date but has actually revolutionized the light bar industry.
Before we get into the types of light bars that AeroLidz offers today, let’s discuss where the light bar all started. Before we had modern lights, we had head lamps on our automotives fueled by acetylene or oil. The use of acetylene or oil headlamps date way back to the late 1880s! In the late 1880’s acetylene headlamps were popular because the flame was resistant to wind and rain, which as you can imagine was an important feature for automotive lights.
The burning of acetylene gas headlamps allowed drivers to drive at night in the early automotive days. The thick concave mirrors and magnifying lenses were able to project the burning acetylene gas or oil flame into light on the road.
Did you know Acetylene gas headlamps weren’t just popular in automotives? Carbide lamps were used widely in the caving and mining industry as well. That is until Christmas Eve in 1932 when the acetylene flame from a miner’s carbide lamp mixed with methane gas, exploding and killing 54 miners in Moweaqua, Illinois.
Because of the danger of the “open” flame of burning acetylene, the use of carbide lamps as lamps in the automotive industry lasted for only 10 years or so until reliable batteries and dynamos became available, and manufacturers switched to electric lights in the early 1900’s.
Tungsten lights work as the filament of a vacuum incandescent lamp is heated to temperatures where visible light is emitted by resistance heating. Acting as an electrical resistor, the tungsten filament emits light that is proportional to the voltage applied times the current through the filament. In other words, it’s what you picture when you think of a traditional light bulb that has a filament that emits light and heats up when you flip the switch on in your home.
The first electric headlamp was produced by Columbi, an electric car company in 1898, if you can believe that! Though the original electric headlamp has evolved significantly it’s closely related to the modern headlights we see today. Due to the short filament life and difficulty of producing dynamos (machines that turn mechanical energy to electrical energy) that were small enough for headlamps but powerful enough to effectively light the road ahead, it took over 10 years for the electric headlight to catch on.
The Guide Lamp Company was responsible for most of the innovation of electric headlights throughout the 1910’s-1930’s. Prior to 1915, you had to physically get out of your car and adjust your headlights for high and low (could you imagine?!), that is until the Guide Lamp Company invented “dipping headlights”. The dipping headlights allowed for drivers to use a lever to switch from low beam to high beam from inside the vehicle, which was a pretty big deal in 1915. Throughout the 20’s and 30’s the Guide Lamp Company and others continued to innovate the automotive headlight industry introducing foot operated dip switches and three beam headlights for “County Passing”, “Country Driving”, and “City Driving”.
The 7” inch standard round sealed headlights were standard in the United States throughout the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and into the 1970’s. During these decades Cadillac introduced the first auto hi/lo automotive lighting system and towards the end of the 1950’s and into the early 60’s Cadillac became the first auto manufacturer to successfully mass manufacture an electric headlight impermeable to the elements of the road.
As technology started to evolve, as did the automotive headlight industry and in the late 60’s Europe introduced halogen headlights. For reasons unbeknownst to us, the United States had intensity regulations that prohibited the use of halogen headlights for over a decade.
The Britanica defines a “Candela'' as a unit of luminous intensity in a given direction of a source that emits monochromatic radiation of frequency 540 × 1012 hertz and has a radiant intensity in that same direction of 1/683 watt per steradian or unit solid angle. In other words, brightness..it means brightness.
High beam peak intensity capped at 140,000 candelas in Europe, whereas in the United States intensity capped at 37,500 for each side of the car. In 1978, the limit in the United States was raised to 75,000 and after one of the deadliest decades of motor vehicle injuries in US history, the United States caught up to its European counterparts and adopted the use of Halogen headlights in US vehicles.
In 1968, a man by the name of Peter Kim Brown and Carol Brown, using the initials of his and his wife, founded a company by the name of KC. KC pioneered the off-road lighting industry using 55-watt halogen lamps. KC paved the way for many of the off-road lighting companies we see today.
For over 50 years KC and their iconic and distinguishable yellow “KC” and smiley face light pods have led the way of innovation in the light bar industry for Halogen light pods. There have been many companies that have joined the light bar industry over the years but few as disruptive and game changing as the company out of St.Charles, Missouri, AeroX Industries.
AeroX Industries, often referred to simply as AeroLidz, has taken the light bar industry and flipped it upside down! But before we get into how AeroLidz has changed the game, let’s quickly discuss the three modern forms of light bars and which is best for you.
Halogen light bars are the oldest and least efficient of the three common, modern off-road light bar designs. As we discussed earlier, Halogen lights are similar to that of the traditional incandescent light bulbs, where a tungsten filament heats up and creates light. Halogen lights consume more power than alternatives and place the highest demand on your Jeep or off-road vehicles electrical system.
There have been many advancements in automotive off-road light bar technology over the years. Some of the biggest advancements include improvements to the components and the power systems themselves, which have all improved considerably. Due to halogens' high demand for power consumption and limited lifespan, HID and LED lights are two of the most popular light bar types.
High Intensity Discharge lights or HID lights, are very popular in high end luxury cars, trucks, SUV’s, and in off-road applications. Xenon HIDs require time to warm up and operate at 100% efficiency, due to the xenon gas needing to heat up inside the bulb. HID lights are powerful lights but they’re expensive and they don’t last as long as LEDs.
LED light technology has been around for years, since the late 60’s in fact. However, back then the technology wasn’t advanced or bright enough to actually use in automotive applications. In 2004, Audi came out with the A8 which was the first car to use LED daytime running lights.
Though Lexus was the first to introduce LEDs on their LS models in 2006, it was Audi that truly pioneered the LED automotive lighting game. Audi introduced the first full LED headlights when their Audi R8 hit the market in 2007. Thereafter, companies such as Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW all followed suit, introducing LEDs in their luxury line of vehicles.
As LED lighting technology advanced and started to become standard amongst many automobile companies, off-road lighting companies started to transition from HID and Halogen lights to the LEDs that are most popular today.
The reason LED light bars are so popular is because they’re easily the most efficient option for off-road lighting for your Jeep or off-road vehicle. Light emitting diodes (LEDs) use far less energy and last much longer than HID and Halogen bulbs. Additionally, there’s no ballast like you see in HID Xenon lights so there’s no warm up time for your lights to operate at 100% efficiency.
LED light bars offer the best choice in terms of performance, reliability, and lifespan, which is why AeroLidz sells only LEDs for their off-road light bars.
AeroXIndustries, colloquially referred to as AeroLidz, is leading the way in off-road lighting because AeroLidz has identified the solution to one of the most common issues with off-road light bars; the light humming sound!
Off-road enthusiasts and Jeepers alike are all too familiar with the humming or buzzing sound from their light bar, particularly when driving down the highway. Unfortunately, many off-road lovers experience this with their light bars for one simple reason; aerodynamics (or lack thereof).
The lack of aerodynamics inspired AeroXIndustries to introduce noise canceling technology, through their light bar silencers, which is where the name “AeroLidz” comes from. AeroLidz flipped the off-road lighting community upside down when they introduced their incredible one-of-a-kind noise-canceling light bar covers. These light bar cover silencers are aerodynamically designed to effectively eliminate that irritating whistle coming from your light bar!
Yes, AeroLidz light bar covers are designed for a perfect combination fit with your 50”-52” light bars, 30”-32” inch light bars, and even 20”-22” inch bars on your rig! The double row light bar covers provide a universal fit for Straight Dual Row LED Light bars with a 2.8” to 3.5” housing face. Moab, Utah is perhaps most known for its world famous mountain biking trails. Moab also has wonderful canoeing, hiking, and of course, fantastic 4x4 backcountry trails to take your Jeep. Moab features some of the most challenging off-road trails in the country for avid Jeepers. However, Moab always has plenty of easier trails for less experienced off-road Jeep enthusiasts.
There are dozens of trails at Moab but there are four trails in particular that stick out to us; Hell’s Revenge, Moab Rim Trail, and Geyser Pass.
Hell’s Revenge is not for the faint of heart, the 14 mile trail takes anywhere from 3-4 hours to traverse. Hell’s Revenge offers amazing views of the slickrock domes and La Sal Mountains. This trail features challenging steep climbs, descents, cliffs and edges so you’re inexperienced or don’t have the rig to handle it, shoot for an easier trail.
The Moab Rim Trail is 15 miles of the most challenging terrain in Moab. This iconic trail features some of the best views of the Colorado River. It’s extremely difficult but if you’ve got the right set up with Jeep, it’s a must travel trail.
For one of the more scenic and easy going trails for inexperienced Jeepers, check out Geyser Pass along the La Sal Mountains. You can see Mount Peale, Canyonlands National Park, and Spanish Valley from Geyser Pass. The 25 miles of Geyser Pass is an easy trail that’s perfect for a summer day.
Pro Tip: One of the famous trails in Moab, Poison Spider Trail, got its name from the legend that a young girl named Mary Jane Francis died on the trail from the bite of a poison spider in 1896. Now nobody really knows the truth behind this legend but there are seven different poisonous spiders indigenous to Utah including the Black Widow, Brown Recluse, Hobo spider, Wolf spider, Yellow Sac, and the Huntsman spider. Turn your AeroLidz light bar on nice and bright to illuminate your path and be on the lookout, that’s all we’re sayin’.
We’ve all heard the phrase “Everything’s Bigger In Texas”, well, Big Bend National Park is no exception. The 801,163 acres is home to hundreds of miles of the best off-road trails to Jeep in all of Texas.
Old Ore Road, 26.5 mile moderately trafficked off-road trail is one of the most scenic and popular trails in Big Bend. Black Gap OHV trail is a lightly trafficked out and back trail that’s excellent for catching a glimpse of Texas wildlife. Glenn Spring OHV trail, Old Maverick, Paint Gap Road, the River Road trail, the list goes on and on.
All of the trails at Big Bend (named for the big bending U shape of the Rio Grande river) are relatively easy to traverse with only a few trails rated higher than 2.0. If your time is limited, we recommend either Old Ore, River Road, or Black Gap.
Pro Tip: While Black Gap is one of the more fun trails in Big Bend National Park, this trail located near the Mexican border is rated 3.0. It’s completely unmaintained, rarely traveled and features extremely rugged terrain. Not only will your rig need a lift, rugged tires, skid plates, etc in order to travel this trail but 4WD experience is necessary. Also, it’s the Texas/Mexico border, so use common sense and avoid solo trips, particularly in the hot Summer months.
Colorado is home to the world’s largest and deepest natural hot springs, the largest flat top mountains, the highest paved road, the tallest sand dunes in America and more. With many massive mountain peaks over 10,000 feet, even 14,000 feet! Colorado is one of the best states to live if you’re a Jeeper. If you live close (or even if you don’t) it’s an incredible place to roadtrip in your Jeep.
Colorado has hundreds of all-access trails but perhaps the most popular is the Deer Creek Saint Johns loop in Glacier Mountain, Colorado. This relatively easy to traverse 4 x4 out and back loop trail is 7.4 miles and is full of incredible scenery.
The Saint Johns trail, 275 on your GPS, begins in the historic Main Street Montezuma. Once you’re on the trail you’ll immediately cross Snake River. If you’re into history, you’ll absolutely love exploring the historic gold mines, many of which are easy to access and explore straight from the trails.
Pro tip: Glacier Mountain is home to thousands of mountain goats! Have your phone ready to take a great Insta-worthy picture of the mountain goats as well as stunning views of the Rocky Mountains, valleys, and lakes below.
El Camino Del Diablo in Arizona, known locally as “The Devil’s Highway” is one of the most scenic and historic trails in the country. The rugged desert terrain of The Devil’s Highway spans 130 miles between Ajo and Yuma.
Self-sufficiency is a must for this multi-day trip as long stretches of this remote trail near the Mexican border offer little to no cell phone coverage. Don’t travel alone on this trail, be sure to grab a Jeep buddy and pack plenty of food and water. Due to the remote nature and light traffic of The Devil’s Highway, you won’t be able to rely on someone passing by to help if you find yourself in danger. It’s smart to traverse The Devil’s Highway in the Fall, as the Summer months’ temperatures can reach over 110 degrees during the day.
Pro tip: Parts of this trip take you on an active Air Force range. Since you’ll need to traverse the Barry Goldwater Air Force Range to complete the trail ride, you must have a permit. The good news? They’re free and they’ll cover the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, which you’ll be passing through as well. Pick up your permit before you start at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma.
Ocala National Forest is the most visited national forest in the state of Florida, it’s also the second largest. Known for its sand pine, Ocala National Forest has the largest concentration of Florida spruce pine in the world.
The 607 square miles of land at Ocala National Forest is home to over 500 natural lakes and ponds, a truly remarkable place to see. Ocala National Forest is Florida’s best-kept secret. The huge oak trees and the subtropical oasis are home to an abundant ecosystem that flourishes with wildlife. Whether you’re a beginner in off-roading or you’re more experienced, you’re guaranteed to find trails that are fun for the whole family.
Pro tip: Go in October for Jeeptoberfest! Jeeptoberfest 2021 is October 15th-17th, registration starts soon!
Johnson Valley is known for being one of the most premier off-road destinations in Southern California. Johnson Valley is located near Lucerne Valley, California, and is a moderately trafficked trail. With an elevation gain of 544 ft, the 7.7-mile off-road trail is of moderate difficulty. There are several activities on the trail and since it’s located in sunny SoCal it’s accessible all year round!
Pro tip: Check out the “King of Hammers” event held annually every February at Means Dry Lake. The off-road race combines desert racing and rock crawling, a must-see experience!
If you’re afraid of grizzly bears and gravel, this 414 mile stretch of rugged off-road trail in Alaska is not for you. The rocky route of “The Haul Road” is not for the faint of heart. Fuel up because there are only 3 spots on Dalton Highway where you can get gas. Dalton Highway owns the proud title of “The Loneliest Road On Earth”. I know, it sounds exhilarating, right? But hear me out.
The Dalton Highway is cool, like, really cool. It’s one of the most northern roads in the world and was originally built in 1974 as a supply route for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. If you’ve got the guts and you’re not afraid of a couple of potholes (and grizzly bears), then pack your supplies and head to the Dalton Highway for the thrill of a lifetime.
Protip: The 414 mile stretch of gravel can potentially do some serious damage to your rig. Pick up an AeroLidz LED light bar cover to protect your lights from the elements. Oh, and did we mention there are grizzly bears?
Alas, the Holy Grail of Off-Roading, our number spot to take your Jeep off-roading in America is none other than, the Rubicon Trail. The 22-mile long Rubicon trail nestled in the Sierra Nevada between Lake Tahoe and Sacramento is synonymous with Jeeps and off-roading. If you’re not familiar with the Rubicon trail you may be thinking, “22 miles? That’s it?”. Don’t be fooled my friend, even the most experienced off-roaders complete the trail in no less than five hours.
For the off-road experience of a lifetime (and incredible views of the Sierra Nevada), visit this historic trail. Check out the 24th Rubicon Trail Jeep Jamboree in August of 2021.
Pro tip: Like the Boy Scouts say, Be Prepared. Before you go, make sure your Jeep is kitted with rock rails, armored bumpers, front and rear locking differentials, and axle lockers. Avoid smashing your lower front control arm mount and install skid plates. Bringing extra parts and tools is also recommended.
Aerolidz will be rolling out some new products next month that we had planned on reveling at the popular jeep events. There will still be a jeep event next month it will be on the internet. People will be getting dates and times very soon. You will be able to take advantage of the great discounts you would find at those shows that were canceled. Jeep Life is not over its just being modified!
